Our Governance

The Board

The PIIF Board has up to 7 CEOs appointed from Member Funds who are nominated at the PIIF Annual General Meeting. The Chairperson is also elected amongst the Members, typically for a period of 1-2 years up to the time of the next CEO Forum.

One of the main responsibilities of the Board is to ensure the PIIF is delivering on the needs of the Member Funds. This involves engaging with the Member Funds to develop the strategic plans, implement initiatives, managing the existing programs, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the PIIF. The Board delegates key responsibilities and day to day management of the PIIF to the Secretariat.

The current Chairperson of the Board is Mr. Viliame Vodonaivalu, CEO of the Fiji National Provident Fund. The Board Members are Mr. Rajeev Sharma, CEO of NASFUND, Ms. Faitele Mika, CEO of the Kiribati Provident Fund, Mr. Penielu Teo, CEO of the Tuvalu National Provident Fund, Mr. Michael Bloomfield, CEO of the Tonga Retirement Benefit Fund, Ms. Aysha Rimoni CEO of the Unit Trust of Samoa, and Ms. Selesitina Reti CEO of the Samoa National Provident Fund.

The Secretariat

In 2015 the Board resolved to commence with a Secretariat for the Forum, to centralise the communications amongst the members, to take the lead on co-ordinating events, developing the training and education programs for the members, and driving the regional development of a co-investment platform for members to participate in.

The PIIF Secretariat is The Cook Islands National Superannuation Fund CEO Mr. Damien Beddoes. The PIIF office of the Secretariat is located in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. The PIIF Constitution is also registered in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
